Hello, I'm Sara
Hi, I’m Teacher Sara! I teach English as a Foreign Language (EFL), English Language Arts (ELA), and Mathematics (Singapore) to young learners at the late elementary and middle school levels. I also help prepare students for important exams. I am a patient, supportive, and adaptive teacher!
I have been teaching and tutoring online for over 7 years, and I love what I do! In addition to teaching over 6,000 hours of interesting and engaging lessons online, I also have three years of formal experience teaching in the classroom at the SJdS International Day School in Nicaragua. I was the lead English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teacher for grades 6-8 as well as a Teacher’s Assistant (TA) and remedial math coach for grades 6-9. My role as the EFL teacher was to support incoming Spanish-speaking students as they transitioned to the English-led classroom. I planned and taught small group differentiated ELA and mathematics classes. I love teaching individual students and small groups, so I can adapt lessons to truly meet each student's individual needs.

My Story
I have taught students from all over the world, including USA, Canada, China, France, Morocco, and Nicaragua! I love teaching and consider myself a never-ending learner too! I'm passionate about language as a tool for clear and expressive communication. I speak English natively, I have learned fluent Spanish, and I've been studying Mandarin Chinese for three years and can communicate at HKS3 level!
I believe it is so important to instill a love of learning in young students, and I aim to make my classes both informative and fun! I use a mix of curated materials to engage students on an individual level.

I look forward to helping your young learner!
