Meet the Teachers
Hi, we're James and Sara. As experienced teachers, we share a teaching philosophy that strong instruction begins with teaching to the individual student. We take time to learn each student's strengths, challenges, goals, and interests, and then use that understanding to guide them toward greater confidence and academic success.

Hi. I’m Teacher James, a former university professor and now a writing coach, ELA instructor, history teacher, and test preparation tutor at Moonmakers Education.
I also provide proofreading and editing support for older students, helping them to produce stronger papers, essays, theses, and applications while preserving their own unique voices.
I offer young learners my expertise as an educator, writer, and editor, experience gained over the course of my career as a professor, journal editor, and online course content creator. I aim to help students write more clearly, think more deeply, and approach schoolwork with greater confidence.

Hi! ¡Hola! 你好！
I'm Teacher Sara. I have been teaching in the classroom and online for over eight years. I primarily teach English Language Arts (ELA) and English as a Foreign Language (EFL) to native Mandarin Chinese and Spanish speakers.
I also teach mathematics, test preparation, and interview skills.
I love helping my students learn to express themselves clearly in writing, speech, and thought. My goal is to help students grow more confident, while fostering a deep love of learning.
